The warehouse needs to be operating at full speed in order to keep the supply chain moving. Any halts or abrupt stops in the chain can be detrimental to the entire organisation. Any machinery for automatic or manual moving in the warehouse that is not being used should be stored out of the way. This can include forklifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and more. If there is broken machinery or tools that require maintenance, store them in a different area than the unused working machines. You can create a designated location for equipment in a location that is easily accessible and visible to employees. This will help create consistency, and the employees can keep track of their shifts easier than a constantly changing schedule. Ensure that breaks are taken on time in order to keep things moving, and be sure to enforce mandatory breaks. Employees who do not rest can become tired out more easily.
